The terms you shop under at MessMate, and how we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Terms of sale

This website is operated by MessMate LLC (“MessMate”, “we”, “us”). By browsing the site or placing an order you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site or buy from it.

Our products and fit

The MessMate splash guard is a silicone accessory designed to fit round pet bowls 7 to 9 inches across the top, for medium to extra-large dogs and large cats. Unless you buy a set, the bowl is not included, and you’re responsible for checking that your bowl is the right size before ordering (our fit guide explains how). Use our products only as intended, for pet feeding, and supervise pets that tend to chew.

Orders

When you place an order you’re making an offer to buy; we accept it when we ship it. We may refuse or cancel an order we believe is fraudulent or in breach of these terms, limit quantities, and correct errors in pricing or product information. If we cancel an order you’ve paid for, we’ll tell you and refund you in full.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in U.S. dollars. Any sales tax that applies is calculated at checkout, along with shipping where it applies. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.

Shipping and delivery

Shipping times and costs are set out on our shipping & returns page. Please make sure your address is correct at checkout: we aren’t responsible for orders delayed or lost because of an incorrect address, or for delays caused by the carrier once a parcel has shipped.

Returns and refunds

Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery, as described on our shipping & returns page. For hygiene and pet-safety reasons, used items can’t be returned. Items that arrive damaged or incorrect are replaced or refunded at no cost to you.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, MessMate isn’t liable for damage caused by misuse of our products, by chewing, or by using a guard with a bowl outside the stated size range. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to it.

Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information MessMate LLC collects when you visit our site or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Contact and order details: your name, email, phone number (if you give it), shipping and billing address, and what you ordered.
• Payment details: entered directly into our payment provider’s secure form. We receive confirmation of payment, not your full card number.
• Messages: anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
• Browsing information: pages viewed, items added to your bag, and basic device and browser information, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use it

We use your information to process and ship your order, send order and shipping updates, answer your questions, prevent fraud, improve our site and products, and, where permitted, show you relevant advertising and send marketing you can opt out of at any time.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers who help us run the store: our e-commerce and website platform, our payment provider (Stripe), shipping carriers and label services, email providers, and analytics and advertising partners such as Google, Meta and TikTok when those tools are active on the site. They may use it only to provide their service to us. We don’t sell your personal information for money.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep your bag and sign-in working. If you add items to your bag, we may keep a copy linked to a random identifier so it’s still there when you come back. Analytics and advertising cookies help us understand how the site is used and measure our ads; you can block or delete them in your browser settings without affecting your ability to shop.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to receive a copy, and to opt out of targeted advertising. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Keeping your information

We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal purposes, and other information only for as long as it’s useful for the purposes above. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Children

Our site isn’t intended for children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
